It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Hannah Jane Barnes of Grand Bank announces her passing. Hannah passed away at the Blue Crest Nursing Home in Grand Bank on Thursday, May 11th, 2023, at the age of 91.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her husband of 68 years, Leo Barnes of Grand Bank, NL; daughter, Karen Barnes (Bert Brushett) of Grand Bank; grandchildren, Connie Grandy (Rod), Carla Matthews, and Colin Matthews (Jill); great-grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, Tyler, Tyson, Carter, and Max; brothers, Wilfred Evans, and Angus Evans (Selma); sister-in-law, Martha Jane Baker; special niece, Melinda Hillier (Lloyd); and special nephew, Carl Evans (Marg); plus a large circle of extended family and friends.
Hannah's family would like to thank her home care workers: Karen Monster, Chantel Clarke, Jackie Brooks, the staff of Blue Crest Nursing Home, and the Dr. S. Beckley Health Care Centre.
Hannah was predeceased by her parents, Joseph & Melinda Evans; stepmother, Ada Evans; brother, Norman Evans (Sarah), sister, Linda Wells (Onslow); sister-in-law, Annie Evans, brother-in-law, Philip Baker; and parents-in-law, Charles & Elizabeth Barnes.
The Barnes Family will be accepting family and close friends at Wiseman's Funeral Home, Grand Bank on
Saturday, May 13th, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will take place at Wiseman's Funeral Home, Grand Bank on Monday, May 15th at 11:00 am.
An interment will follow at St. Alban's Anglican Cemetery.
In Hannah's memory donations may be made to Blue Crest Cuddle Bed Project, or flowers gratefully accepted.
