Obituary for Ellen Mary Lake (Coady)
It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Ellen Mary Lake of Marystown announces her passing. Ellen passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the age of 82.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her husband Frank; sons, Michael (Nicole) of Happy Adventure, and Charles (Kimberley) of St. John’s; three grandchildren, Christopher, Stephen, and Joshua; two great-grandchildren Oliver and Haley; brothers, Richard Coady (Gail) of Grand Bank, and Edward Coady (Debbie) of Marystown; sister Susie Gilbert (Gil) of Phoenix, Arizona; brother-in-law John Legge of Marystown; sister-in-law, Adele Coady of Wabush, Labrador; plus a large circle of extended family and friends.
Ellen was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Jo Coady; brothers, Tom, Mike, and Billy Coady; and sister Catherine Legge.
Ellen was the most caring, loving individual that always put others before self. She was strong in faith, and was devoted to Sacred Heart Parish in Marystown. Her family was her rock, and she adored large family get-togethers, and celebrated every possible occasion and milestone. A few moments in her company, and you became family too. Her unconditional love has left an indelible imprint on everyone that touched her hand, received a hug, or shared a warm embrace. Our lives have been blessed by her presence with so many beautiful memories.
The family would like to sincerely thank Drs. Moulton, Power, and McCarthy for their exceptional medical care, the entire nursing staff on the Medicine Unit at BPHCC and Debbie, her homecare worker. We also sincerely appreciate the loving care provided by her special nieces, Nicole Keating and Jacqueline Legge, throughout her illness.
The Family will be accepting visitors at Peninsula Funeral Homes in Creston South on the following dates:

Monday, November 7th
2:00pm - 4:00pm
7:00pm - 9:00pm
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Marystown on November 8, 2022 at 9:30am. Interment to follow at the Sacred Heart RC Cemetery, Marystown.
In Ellen’s memory, flowers are gratefully accepted.
