Obituary for Dorothy M. Murphy

It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Dorothy Marie Murphy of Parker's Cove announces her passing. Dorothy passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Burin on Sunday, November 20th, 2022, at the age of 79.

Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her children, Dorothy Moulton (Jeff), Benedict Murphy (Audrey), Ralph Murphy (Zita), Tammy Brake (Paul), Tanya Murphy (Tim) and Eddie Murphy (April); grandchildren, Sasha (Mark), Dean (Cora Lee), Roxanne (Gary), Paul (Vicki), Tyler, Nathan, Natasha, Cameron, Parker and Jenni; great-grandchildren, Ben, Kourtney, Jessie, Caleb, Kate, Lucy, Sophia, Noah and Reyd; sisters, Juanita Cox (Robert) and Gertie Stapleton (Robert); brothers, Clarence Pardy (Lucy), and Edward Pardy; special nieces, who mom referred to as her guardian angels, which were Sherry, Valerie and Sanny; sister-in-law and close friend, Marie Jones; also Raymond's children and grandchildren; plus a large circle of extended family and friends.

Dorothy was predeceased by husband, Benedict Murphy; parents, Dorothy Melita & Edward Pardy; special niece, Roxanne Pardy; special sister-in-law, Mercedes Pardy; granddaughter-in-law, Katelyn Doyle; and special friend, Raymond Murphy.

The Murphy family would like to thank her homecare workers for all the care provided over the past few years. Thank you to the Marystown Retirement Centre for the special care and compassion shown from the staff and residents. Mom's stay was short but she sure enjoyed all your company and care. And thank you to Dr. Lyn Power, Dr. Odumosu and the nursing staff at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre for the wonderful care provided to our mom. Special thank you to her niece, Leona Moores who was by her side during her passing and always made a special visit to see her and help with anything she wanted or needed.

In honoring her wishes, cremation will take place.

The Murphy Family will be accepting visitors at Wiseman's Funeral Home, Marystown on

Friday, November 25th
10am - 12noon
2pm - 4pm
7pm - 9pm.

A vigil service will take place at Wiseman's Funeral Homes, Marystown on Friday, November 25th at 3pm.

In Dorothy's memory in-lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation or The Kidney Foundation.

"She made broken look beautiful and strong look invisible. She walked with the universe on her shoulders and made it look like a pair of wings."
