It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Alexander "Alex" Stapleton of Marystown announces his passing. Alex passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin on Saturday, March 18th, 2023, at the age of 87.

Leaving to mourn are his wife Geraldine of 63 years; daughter, Bernadine Stapleton of St. John's; sons, Keith Stapleton (Darlene) of Marystown and Craig Stapleton (Kim) of Winterland; grandchildren, Jonathan Stapleton Gibbons (Sarah), Stacey Murphy (Josh) and Kelsi Stapleton (Cameron); great-grandchildren, Brooks, Beau, Tucker, Maddie and Parker; brothers, John Stapleton (Pearl) of Marystown and Bobby Stapleton (Gertie) of St. John's; sister-in-law, Nellie Stapleton of Marystown; fur baby, Charli; plus a large circle of relatives and friends.

Alex was predeceased by his parents, William & Gertrude Stapleton; brothers, Michael and Bill Stapleton; sisters, Rita Keywork (Ray) and Theresa Antle (Jim); and fur babies, Lucky and Biscuit.

In honoring his wishes, cremation will take place.

Wednesday, March 22nd

7pm - 9pm

Funeral Mass will take place at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Marystown on Thursday, March 23rd, 2023 at 2pm. Inurnment to follow at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Marystown.

In Alex's memory donations may be made to Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Marystown or flowers gratefully accepted.
